Baja Soul

This 1972 Ford Bronco has been modified in the style of the limited-production Baja model, which was produced by Ford to commemorate victories in the Baja 500 and Baja 1000 by Bill Stroppe-prepared Broncos. Refurbishment of the exterior was conducted under previous ownership, and the seller had the build completed after her acquisition of the truck last year. She commissioned a shop in California to install new carpets, door panels, side mirrors, sun visors, a spare tire carrier, exhaust, and more as outlined below. Power comes from a 302ci V8 paired with a floor-shift 3-speed manual transmission and a 2-speed transfer case. This Baja Bronco tribute is now offered in California with recent receipts and a clean Wyoming title in the seller’s name.

The body was refinished under previous ownership in white and red with a metallic blue roof, similar to the Stroppe team livery. Fender flares were also mounted over cut wheel openings. The seller had a new windshield installed along with new seals and channels. A detailing of the body, engine bay, and underside was performed in November 2018.

15″ American Racing wheels wear BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A K02 tires. The seller had a new swing-away spare tire carrier sourced, painted, and mounted.

The interior is outfitted with new black seat upholstery, door panels, rear panels, carpet, headliner, and sun visors. The shifter has been relocated to the floor, and further additions include a roll bar, tilt steering column, tachometer, and CD player.

A new steering wheel was also added in late 2018. The 5-digit odometer shows just under 60k miles, with total mileage unknown.

Power is supplied by a 302ci V8 that is paired with a 3-speed manual transmission and 2-speed transfer case. An aluminum radiator and Edelbrock carburetor were installed by the previous owner, and work during the seller’s ownership included timing, carburetor, and brake adjustments, as well as the installation of a new dual exhaust system.

Suspension modifications include a 4″ lift featuring Wild Horses shocks and rear springs, as well as a steering stabilizer. Additional underside photos are available in the gallery. A walk-around and video of the engine bay are included below.
