EPIC Bidding on FJCompany G40-S
Guessing what a car or truck might sell for on Bring-A-Trailer is an entertaining pastime that automotive fans love to play. Who can "nail it"? How much will it sell for? Will is make the reserve price?
I knew this particular FJ Company truck would sell for well over $100K but I didn't see $270,000 coming. That's where the dust settled after a hard fought battle between to relentless bidders.
The G40-S is an "over the top" FJ40 Restomod designed and built by the FJ Company in Bogotá, Colombia. This 1970 G40-S is finished in Cadet Blue and receives power to all four of its wheels from a supercharged 4.0-liter Toyota 1GR-FE V6 mated to a five-speed manual transmission and a dual-range transfer case. Additional features include front and rear electronic locking differentials, custom 16” aluminum wheels, FJ70 front coil-spring suspension, front disc brakes, power steering, brown leather upholstery over Recaro front seats, LED lighting, a Warn winch, air conditioning, and a custom Bluetooth sound system. This modified FJ40 was featured in a 2021 Omaze charity fundraising sweepstakes, although the winner chose a cash alternative instead of the truck. It is was offered by the selling dealer in California on behalf of the Omaze asset management team.
