Powered by a GM Performance Small Block Chevy ZZ4 350 Turn-Key Crate Engine mated to the Performance Automatic PAGM Series Street Smart Transmission Package, 4L60E, for ZZ4.

 

The truck was built from the ground up by one of the most experienced and capable restoration/builders on the Land Cruiser scene, Restored FJ40  in Lincoln City, OR.

 

This project started with two FJ45 Pickup trucks which eventually became one. The truck has been driven 150 miles since it was completed. It's essentially new. Zero rust, no body damage not even a blemish. She is titled as a 1967 based on the VIN so she's CA smog exempt.

Powered by the ZZ4 350 Turn-Key crate engine, one of the most popular high performance crate engines since GM Performance Parts was started. Its legendary status is based on an incredible performance level that is stone cold reliable. The ZZ4 350 crate engine is packed with a forged steel crankshaft, hypereutectic pistons, hydraulic roller camshaft and lifters, and aluminum cylinder heads. The ZZ4's Corvette-derived high-performance heads feature high velocity intake runners and D-shaped exhaust ports to promote efficient and unobstructed flow through the engine – providing strong power and torque at all RPM levels. The ZZ4 350 is delivered with an aluminum dual-plane intake manifold, HEI distributor, cast iron water pump, damper, and flexplate.

The 4L60E automatic transmission can be controlled by the PCS Simple Shift Transmission controller. The Simple Shift is the latest breakthrough in electronic overdrive transmission control. No laptops or technicians are required to completely control shift points, shift firmness, and torque converter lockup. All parameters are simply adjusted with easy-to-use dials on the end of the Simple Shift unit. Complete control of how and when your transmission shifts is at your fingertips. Included are complete diagnostic capabilities communicated via simple flashing LED's that can tell you what gear you're in, and whether or not your torque converter is locked up.

You may have seen a 4-door FJ40's before. ICON made a four door they called the FJ44. Bandeirante produced a 4-door pickup built in Brazil but these all have smaller doors in the rear. This is the only or "Crew Cab" Land Cruiser FJ45 with four "full sized" doors known to exist. The truck has a handcrafted all steel tub with four doors and a short bed. Seating for up to eight passengers.

A custom suspension and Rancho 9000 adjustable shocks support aluminum alloy 15" wheels with BFG 33x10.50 Mud Terrain tires. Up front you will find a Man A Fre FJ40 bumper. This heavy duty 4PLUS bumper is made out of 1/4″ thick steel plate and features up-swept ends for better approach angle and clearance. The upright supports for the grill/brush guard section are 1/2" thick steel with built-in reinforced shackle mounting points.

Whether you're winching and airing up while off-roading; inflating a raft or air mattress; running a nail gun or impact wrench; the Power Plant is the way to get things done. Halogen headlights light up the trail. and Saginaw power steering makes maneuvering child's play.

The tub is lined with Raptor lining underneath and the interior floors and bed have color matched lining that is tough, serviceable and looks great. A custom made floor mat covers the interior floors front to back. All interior seats are Corbeau Baja RS Suspension Seats in Black Vinyl. All seats feature three point seat belts and the custom built interior roll frame is simply a "work of art." The custom short bed has long FJ40 jump seats with restraints for additional passengers. The bed is protected by a custom built canvas top.

You will find Dakota Digital gauges, ARB Lockers, tilt steering column and floor shifter for the automatic transmission. Air conditioning is supplied by Cool Cruisers of Texas and blows cold! Wing windows in the front doors and kick out vents provide additional ventilation. All for doors are finished with plush custom made door cards following the original iconic design. Standard FJ40 heater provides plenty of heat to warm the cab.  I just dropped in a fresh Duralast 800 Cold Cranking Amp battery on 3/30/22
