This Beautiful 1976 FJ55 Land Cruiser was restored between 2000 and 2003 and the truck has been garaged and sparingly driven. The following description outlines all the work. Many new parts were used during the restoration which are no longer new but the truck has been driven less then 20K miles since most of this work occurred. I owned this truck in 2002/03 and drove it to from Des Moines to central Nebraska and back with my Son to go pheasant hunting. Great truck!

Original Red & White color scheme. Repainted in 2000 with Spies-Hecker base coat / clear coat, over an epoxy primer. Interior repainted under my ownership in 2003. Disk brakes, 4 speed, ultra reliable 2F engine, power steering. Currently showing 126K on odometer. I can see in the photos that 17 years later, there are a couple small rust spots returning.

This truck was registered in California until 1999, when it was brought to Colorado.  It had very minor rust and some dings, but all small dents were pulled out without drilling, and any rust was repaired new metal welded in. Very little filler was used, only as necessary to top coat the repairs. Significant amounts of rustproofing and grease was applied to every cavity and crevice. The grille, headlight rings, and rear bumper are all powder coated. The rocker panels have a textured anti-chip spray applied over the paint.

The engine and clutch were rebuilt at 110K miles '97, new brake linings, new brake and clutch master cylinder, new water pump, new heater hoses, new Toyota heater control valve, reman. AIR pump, new temp. gauge sender, all emission controls intact and functional. Later model gear reduction starter. New muffler.

The truck rides on 31x10.50-15 Michelin LTX tires on chrome FJ-60 rims with center caps, newer shocks, newer 2" extended shackles and bushings, correction shims added to front axle, newer u-bolts on front axle. New Toyota drag link, new tie rod ends, rebuilt center arm, front end aligned.

The Interior has been completely repainted. New headliner from perforated white vinyl (prevents condensation/rust in roof area), stock seats - reupholstered in black vinyl. Dash cap. All door panels uncut and original.  New carpeted cargo area panels - tasteful and subtle. Original vinyl floor mat in passenger areas and back. All window felts replaced, new door seals. Tailgate window seal replaced, new tailgate gear - glass and gate worked well. New speedometer cable. All defroster hoses replaced. New Toyota windshield gasket, and windshield and all glass in excellent condition.  All gauges and electrical devices work as designed. All seat

belts (shoulder belts in front) intact, and jack/crank handles, tool bag in place under seats.

All u-joints are tight, all fluids changed and clear. No leaks, save an occasional drip from the rear main seal.  Clutch is smooth, transfer case is quiet and both transmission and transfer case shift well.

Non-stock additions include Toyota Mini-truck power steering - works very well.  Jensen shaft-style AM/FM/Cassette in stock location - dash not cut. Small Alpine stereo amp under dashboard. Custom receiver hitch built into face of rear bumper + wiring and safety chain mount. Electric fuel pump with lighted dash switch, wired to accessory circuit. Rear bumper is a front FJ55 bumper mounted on the rear of the truck - looks stock, but is stronger than OEM. Custom front inner fender liners and rear mud flaps. Includes tool kit, jack, jack rods, manual and inspection light.

Note:  I intend to address the following items. The electric rear window is not working. The drivers side crank window is slipping. There is a small area of paint bubbling in the passenger side lower rocker.
