Here's a great 1979 Restomod. The truck has a high quality fiberglass tub which eliminates rust issues. She's powered by a small block Chevrolet V8 mated to the stock 4-speed manual transmission gives this FJ40 plenty of power and power steering make her easy to drive. This 1979 FJ40 that has been with her owner for over 20 years and he's put about 8,000 miles on her.

 

The owner drove this FJ40 home to Iowa from New Jersey when he bought her in 2002. She's was newly restored at that time and has always been garaged. As you can see, she still looks great. The truck has a BesTop soft top and doors. This top can be raised and lowered easily so you can enjoy the open air.  The truck also has front ARB lockers but needs the switch installed.

 

The truck has a shackle reversal and the suspension consists of front and rear leaf springs, Con Ferr shackles, with Rugged Trail shocks and Rancho steering stabilizers. The exterior features custom side steps, rear step, double tube Con Ferr front and rear bumpers, heavy duty Carr step treads, a 2" hitch receiver, telescoping mirrors, auxiliary Baja Lazer front lights, aluminum wheels with BFG All Terrain tires.

 

The interior is surrounded by a padded full roll cage and someone with talent went to considerable effort to craft a beautiful solid oak dash with VDO gauges that include Speedometer, Tachometer, Fuel, Water Temp, Oil Pressure, Engine Temp, Amperage and a Clock. These gauges are fronted by a Grant 4-spoke mahogany steering wheel. The seats are high back cloth with a durable black and white "checkered flag" pattern insert. The rear has the classic Land Cruiser side facing jump seats. There is a fire extinguisher mounted to the roll bar. 

 

This is a great vehicle for the money. There is no rust. There are no issues of consequence at all. She's ready to enjoy. In my opinion, she's indeed a bargain and she's located in Central Iowa.
