Power Steering and A/C

This 1980 FJ40 came from Lubbock, TX before moving to Texarkana in 2018. At that time, she was an original, unmodified last-generation FJ40 with a solid original drivetrain, 77k miles, and a recent Old Man Emu suspension installation. The new owner wanted to add A/C and power steering, so those parts were sourced and installed from Vintage Air and Iron Pig Off-Road. She also underwent a tune-up, new brake pads, and all belts were replaced.

Safari Classics of Hot Springs, AR performed a full frame-off, glass-out restoration of the paint and body. This included all new hardware, OEM weatherstripping, new windshield, stainless body hardware and undercoating. Many other new parts and OEM Toyota accessories were also purchased, such as mirrors, latches, door handles, etc.

She underwent preparation and was painted with base coat / clear coat in her original color. Sound deadening material was installed, along with a new floor mat that fits perfectly. Additionally, a Tuffy console with a Bluetooth stereo receiver and new speakers mounted in a custom way were included.

A pre-owned period correct Warn 8274 winch was installed with new remote and new BFG KM3 Mud Terrain 33x10.50s were mounted on correct OEM Toyota Landcruiser FJ40 steel white spoke wheels with center caps.

The Vintage Air Generation IV air conditioning blows COLD, and the power steering makes her very easy to drive.  She has the later model 3:70 gearing and will cruise comfortably at 65 MPH. Four wheel drive works well, and all the gears shift smooth. A new Die Hard battery was installed in July 2024 and the truck just received $3,000 worth of service work. A compression reads 140 to 150 across all cylinders.  For more information contact me at (515) 864-1275
