This 1982 US spec numbers matching Land Cruiser FJ40 was acquired by the current owner in 2011. It underwent a restoration prior to acquisition including a repaint in Rustic Green with 15″ white-painted steel wheels, reupholstery of the front seats in gray vinyl, addition of air conditioning, installation of 4Plus bumpers front and rear and a Warn winch.

 

Power is provided by the original 4.2-liter 2F inline-six mated to a four-speed manual transmission and a dual-range transfer case. Features include Old Man Emu suspension, shocks and steering damper, manually locking Warn front hubs, power-assisted steering and brakes and rear jump seats.

 

The truck was originally color code 033 (white) and she was painted inside and out during the refurbishment.  Options include factory power steering and Nostalgic Air A/C. The odometer is currently showing 119,499 miles. Up front your will find an ARB front bumper with a Warn 8000lb. The rear bumper is a Kaymar with swing away tire carrier and swing away dual jerry can holder. 

 

Under the hood is the original The 4.2-liter 2F inline-six with a Holly carburetor added. Emission equipment has been removed. Power is routed to the rear or all four wheels through a four-speed manual transmission.

White-painted 15″ steel wheels are mounted with 235/75 R15 BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A tires, while a matching spare mounted to a swing-out rear carrier. This example is equipped with manually locking Warn front hubs as well as a factory power-assisted steering.

The interior features include gray upholstery and repainted body-color steel surfaces, color matched lining inside on all floors and from the mid point down in the cargo area. Work performed includes new upholstery on front seats as well as installing new window regulators, door cards Tuffy locking console and more. Inward-facing rear jump seats with fold out supports are mounted in the cargo area, There is no radio installed.

A three-spoke steering wheel frames an 85-mph speedometer as well as gauges for oil pressure, coolant temperature, amperage, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 119,499 miles.

This FJ40 is now offered with and a clean NY title, manufacturer’s Owners manuals, jack, jack rods, toolkit, Warn winch control and one ignition key.

Notes:

The Nostalgic Air units are designed to provide A/C and heat, however the heater is not blowing hot.  It may be an install issue or a stuck heater valve in the closed position. 

Tires are 8-10 years old however with very few miles.

Back door key is missing.
