1976 FJ40 - Power Steering

This US Spec 1976 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40 has been with the current owner since 2017 and now shows 71k miles. This truck came from Montana and is powered by a totally rebuilt  4.2-liter 2F inline-six linked with a her original four-speed manual transmission and a dual-range transfer case. The truck was disassembled down to the frame. All body and mechanical parts were evaluated, rebuilt, refurbished or replaced. Power Steering was added and any rust or corrosion was cut out and repaired with new metal. Once the truck was complete, she was finished in a custom Blue PPG paint with CoolTech sound deadener, and Scorpion bed liner.

The truck has with a removable hardtop with a white roof over brown cloth bucket seats and black vinyl interior. Features include 15″ white-finished steel wheels, front disc brakes, manually locking front hubs, a Warn 9000lb. winch, rear ambulance-style doors, a tow hitch, one inward-facing rear jump seat with rear roll bar, and a rear-mounted spare tire. This FJ40 is located in Iowa and offered with a clean Iowa title in the seller’s name.​

The white spoked 15″ steel wheels are mounted with 31x10.50 Kuhmo Road Venture All-Terrain tires. The truck is equipped with manually locking front hubs. Braking is from front discs and rear drums.

 

The after-market powered front bucket seats are upholstered in brown cloth, and the inward-facing rear seat are trimmed in black vinyl. The cabin also features body-color metal panels, a front heater, and black lined flooring. The original dash pad has some cracks and thus has a cover.



The three-spoke steering wheel frames a 100-mph speedometer as well as gauges for oil pressure, coolant temperature, amperage, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 71k miles, a few thousand of which were driven under current ownership.

The 4.2-liter 2F inline-six is equipped with a single carburetor and has had the smog equipment removed. ​ Some of these parts are included in the sale. Power is routed to the rear or all four wheels through a four-speed manual transmission and a dual-range transfer case.

There are two plastic bins of parts that were replaced or removed. These come with the Land Cruiser and there is an optional large Con-Ferr Discovery Roof Rack available.
