1978 - A Great Year!

This 1978 FJ40 is coveted for her 4:11 gears, classic rounded headlight bezel and no nonsense design. There are some features most all agree they would like to have on an FJ40 including a roll bar which became standard in 1974 and front disc brakes in 1976. Other significant features include the switch to rear ambulance doors in 1975 and newly designed front doors with vinyl covered door cards vs. the earlier “all metal” doors. Rear flip out wing windows in 1977 and the addition of fully electronic ignition in 1978.

This Olive 1978 FJ40 was found in Henderson NV and had been sitting for some time when a Land Cruiser fan snapped it up and began restoring the truck. OEM parts were used wherever possible.

In 2018, she was re-painted in Toyota 654 Olive on the exterior and retains her original paint in the majority of the cabin. New tires, KN filter, news belts & hoses, , , new weather seals

Steering wheel is from an 80-series Land Cruiser and the owner has the original wheel. Comes with rear bolt on color matched OEM-style tailgate, original steering wheel, original rear heater. two sets of mirrors, rear bumperettes, radio plate cover.
