Built in April of 1980, this Land Cruiser FJ40 was owned for years by one family. The owner passed in 2014. The truck spent some time in TX prior to moving to Louisiana and was lovingly restored by her owner. She retains her original 2F engine, 4-speed transmission and drive train. She has factory power steering and Cool Cruiser A/C.
The restoration was performed several years ago and the FJ40 has been driven very sparingly in recent years. She was recently used for a wedding in 2021. The odometer reads 39,379 miles but total mileage is unknown.
Under the hood you will find a de-smogged stock 2F engine. The stock carb has been replaced long ago with a Holley carb and the engine runs great. The truck has good power and is easy to drive.
The front and rear bumpers had to come from Cool Cruisers of Texas. I've seen many just like them. over the years and they are massive. The front bumper houses auxiliary front lights and a Warn MX6085 D1 winch that works fine but is not currently connected to the battery. On the roof you will find a big heavy-duty Garvin Industries Wilderness Rack.
The suspension appears largely unmodified except for extended shackles. Remington Wide Brute 33 x 12.50 tires are wrapped around black 15" steel spokes. Window tint is applied to all windows and a strip also covers the upper portion of the original windshield. The original jack rests behind the drivers seat. The original manual is in the glove box with the winch remote. The dash pad has a couple small cracks on it and I have installed a dark great carpeted DashMat. The floors are lined in black and covered with a gray carpet kit.
The headliner is original and in great shape. Front seats have been recovered and there are no tears or issues. The rear jump seats are not present. There is no radio. There is a small additional light that illuminates the instrument cluster and comes on when the headlights are on. You will also find a toggle switch for the Aux front lamps and a 12v accessory panel below the dash for charging. There is a hitch on back and flat four wiring for trailer lights.
The truck comes with the jack, jack rods, toolkit. I'm going through this truck and sorting it out as needed. A full service has been performed 11/9/21. All fluids flushed and refreshed. Oil, brake fluid, transmission fluid, radiator, etc. This is a good one!
