Sometimes we get a second chance! For those who missed it, this FJ40 sold in one day but the new owner was planning to use her for a 50 mile commute into the Chicago area and as many of you know. That's not the ideal scenario for an FJ40.
US spec 1978 FJ40 was a lightly used daily driver for a student in the Austin TX area and received regular maintenance. It was repainted in the original color in summer of 2019. This included some minimal body work, rust repair and new weatherstripping. Photos are available prior to and during body work,
The truck wears original wheels and hubcaps. In December 2019, the rear-main seal and cooling system hoses were replaced. The truck has aftermarket A/C but it does not blow cold. Odometer shows 53500 miles which is believed to be original but not verifiable. The seats have been redone and the rear jump seats are the longer seats found in pre 1974 FJ40's. The headliner has been redone but appears to be sagging a wee bit on front passenger side. She has a Tuffy center console, speakers in the doors and in back and Kenwood audio with bluetooth.
