Cool Cruisers of Texas was the FJ40 restoration authority back in the day. After all, they sold about every part you could imagine for the Land Cruiser so building quality restorations was a "no-brainer. "
Eventually CCOT decided to concentrate on providing parts for the rest of us rather than restorations. Here's a beautiful example of one of their projects. This 77 looks as good today as the day they finished. She's been squirreled away under wraps for many years and will be offered soon on Bring-A-Trailer.
She's been owned for years by a family in Louisiana. The truck is essentially stock with her original 2F engine and drive train. Power steering and A/C have been added. It's important to note that while this restoration was likely performed several years ago, the FJ40 has been driven very sparingly over the years. She has only 69520 miles.
At the time of the restoration, nearly every part of the vehicle was refreshed, restored or replaced. So the word "new" is intended to describe condition vs. actual age. The near flawless interior features new upholstery on all seats, new headliner, OEM original rubber floor coverings, Nostalgic air conditioning, OEM rear heater, stock metal center console, new dash pads, standard rear jump seats.
Under the hood you will find the stock 2F engine with emissions in place. This engine was obviously gone thru and sorted out but to what extent is unknown. The engine bay has been refreshed with new belts, hoses, vacuum lines, plug wires and more. The odometer reads 69,521 and this is very likely the original mileage but I have no provenance. Optional add-ons under the hood include a yellow top Optima battery, power steering and air conditioning components.
The front bumper includes a Warn 9000 lb. winch, mini bull bar and fog lamps, Rock guards are installed to protect the headlights. The rear bumper is a old school Con Ferr tube bumper in like new condition.
The suspension appears unmodified with the exception of new shocks. Goodyear Wrangler 31x10.50's tires are wrapped around simple steel white spokes. Window tint can be found applied on all glass rear of the front doors. The original jack rods are located behind the passenger side jump seat and the original jack rests under the drivers seat. #FJ40 #BaT #1977 #4x4 #CCOT #Cruiser #LCN
Any idea what she'll go for? I have one just like it only green.
