This US Spec numbers matching 1977 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40 is finished in Freeborn Red with a white roof over a grey vinyl interior. Prior to the seller’s ownership, the truck reportedly underwent a refurbishment that included a refinished body and new paint. More recently there have been additional improvements including new bumpers and trim, new upholstery, new headliner, all new hardware for the hard top and more.
Power comes from a 4.2-liter inline-six paired with a 4-speed manual transmission, and JT Outfitters power steering has been added. The vehicle has 78,800 miles and is located in North Carolina. The current owner had owned this FJ40 for seven years. She's been garage kept and driven sparingly. The seller reports the drivers side floor appears to have had some rust repair with some pitting visible under the paint. (See photos)
During the renovation, the body was finished inside and out in single-stage Freeborn Red. Areas of rust were cut out and replaced with new sheetmetal, and new exterior components were sourced including front and rear bumpers, hood hardware, signal lamps, mirrors, emblems, and weatherstripping. The seller notes that the radio is not currently working.
OEM 15″ steel wheels are wrapped in brand new BFG 33×10.50″ A/T KO2 tires. During the refurbishment, the frame was treated with rust preventative and the leaf springs were replaced with a full Old Man Emu suspension and matching shocks.
The interior is finished in body-color panels and trimmed in reupholstered grey vinyl front bucket seats and gray door inserts. A new headliner and sun visors were added during the recent work. The seller notes that front and rear seats have been re-upholstered and the dash pads have no cracks. The truck retains it's original Toyota front mat. All windows are reported to be in excellent shape with new rubber seals. New after market three point harness seat belts have been added.
The instrument panel includes a 100-mph speedometer as well as gauges for oil pressure, fuel level, water temperature, and amperage. The 5-digit odometer currently shows 78,800 miles.

The 4.2-liter 2F inline-six is paired with a 4-speed manual transmission and a dual-range transfer case. During the refurbishment, a valve job was performed on the engine and no oil leaks are noted. The seller indicates that the truck retains it's smog equipment and the OEM carburetor has been rebuilt. A new clutch master cylinder has been installed recently.
