1984 was the final year for the short wheelbase  Land Cruiser worldwide. This Canadian BJ42 was one of the last trucks to roll off the line in Japan.

This Land Cruiser encapsulates all the evolutionary improvements that occured over the years. Front disc brakes with four-piston calipers, 3:70 gears, split transfer case and updated five-speed transmission, improved emergency brake design, Safer fuel tank location underneath the vehicle and increased capacity of 21.6 gallons, re-designed to a more modern look. The unique silver and black dash panel, which is only found on 1983 & 1984 40-series trucks, upgraded from five digits to six-digits. The choke headlight pulls with lighted knobs, fully reclining front seats, jump seats with U-shaped legs for added support. The cabin courtesy light came on when the doors are opened. The center console with ashtray and integrated rear heater and high altitude package with side window defrosters
