1973 FJ40 - Rare Color

This little project was a long labor of love. We started back in March or 2013. The truck had good bones but there was a lot of work to do.

Restoration was completed on this one owner 1973 FJ40 in 2015. The truck was used on a ranch in Utah all it’s life. Pollux Orange is a seldom seen color on FJ40‘s. (Code 304) Bucket seats in front and jump seats in back, 3 speed, new Optima battery, Body was taken apart and restored with countless hours of work by Customer Finish Auto. New Upholstery, Dashpad, Headliner, Signals, Window Felts, Rear Lamps, Weatherstripping, Window gaskets, and much more. A complete tune up and many new mechanical parts throughout. New Brakes, New paint, Correct wheels and hubcaps, bumper, bumperettes, tires, alternator, plugs, wires, etc. If it was worn or tired, we replaced it. Too much to list.

The former owner told me a story about hunting in this truck in Utah while he was going to college at BYU. If you’re a football fan you will recognize his hunting buddy and friend Steve Young, the former BYU and NFL Quarterback. As the story goes, while riding around the ranch likely sitting on the hood, they hit a bump and Young fell off the truck with gun in hand accidentally firing a round that put a hole straight through the fender. We repaired that bullet hole and a whole lot more!
